Instrumental Therapy by TCM Physio
Therapeutic Ultrasound*
Speed the healing rate of scars: increasing tensile strength and improving scar mobility.
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)*
Shockwave therapy is beneficial in tendinopathies, fasciopathy, and soft tissue healing.
*(Promote neovascularization at the tendon-bone junction, stimulate proliferation of tenocytes and osteoprogenitor differentiation, increase leukocyte infiltration, and amplify growth factor and protein synthesis to stimulate collagen synthesis and tissue remodelling.)
Electroacupuncture*
Low-frequency electroacupuncture reduces pain by stimulating chemicals in the brain that aid analgesia, relaxation and sleep.
*(Following a detailed physiotherapy assessment, needles are coupled to the electrodes of an electroacupuncture machine. These units deliver variable amplitudes and frequencies of electrical impulses.)
Interferential Therapy Machines (NMES)*
Interferential therapy (NMES) relieves pain, stimulates muscles, and increases local blood flow.
*(The Interferential uses a mid-frequency electrical signal to treat muscular spasms and strains, making it particularly effective in treating acute injuries, especially in sports.)
Microwave Therapy
Microwaves are applied using the radiation field method, which applies beams of electromagnetic waves to muscle tissue. The energy from these waves is directly absorbed in the tissue and makes it warm. Microwave therapy is preferred if you want local heating of the muscles or connective tissue structures, such as ligaments, sinews, capsules, etc.
